Ben Greggor Named MCC Pitcher of the Week

May 1, 2001

CLEVELAND - Cleveland State's Ben Greggor (Lyndhurst, Ohio/Brush) was named the MCC Pitcher of the Week yesterday. It is the first time in his career he has been honored by the conference.

After making 83 consecutive appearances out of the bullpen (2nd most ever at CSU) Greggor started for the first time in his career last Friday night against Butler. All the senior right-hander did was toss a complete game six-hitter in CSU's 2-1 victory. Greggor struck out a career-high 10 and walked just two in nine innings of work. He joins Keith Lillash (Mar. 26) and Eric Zizelman (Feb. 26) as players to be recognized by the MCC this year.

The Vikings (16-26, 3-9 MCC) play Akron tomorrow (May 2) at Jacobs Field at 2:00 p.m. before hosting Detroit over the weekend.
