Pape Badiane brings excellent athletic ability and explosiveness to the pivot position. Very athletic, Badiane combines good height (6’11”), good agility and unusual speed to become one of the top defensive players in the Horizon League. His quickness and leaping ability enable him to be a devastating shot-blocker while his strength gains will enhance his rebounding effectiveness. His ability to run the court will make him a dangerous offensive threat in CSU’s running scheme.

2002-03 SEASON:
• Horizon League All-Defensive team selection after leading conference with 57 blocks, the second-highest season total in CSU history.
• Led the team in field goal percentage (72-135, .533), rebounds (158) and blocked shots.
• Ranks fourth in school annals with 91 career blocks, 103 shy of the record.
• Was one of just two players to see action in all 30 games, starting 18.
• Scored in double figures seven times, including a career-high 21 points at UW-Milwaukee on Feb. 8.
• UW-Milwaukee contest started a five-game stretch which saw him average 12.2 points and 5.2 rebounds, shooting .600 from the field (21-35) and .792 from the line (19-24).
• Recorded multiple blocked shots 16 times, including seven games of four blocks or more.
• Equalled a school record with seven blocked shots vs. Butler on Feb. 24, adding eight points and a career-high equalling 11 rebounds.
• Originally set career rebounding high with 11 caroms vs. Maryland-Eastern Shore on Dec. 6.

CLEVELAND STATE CAREER:
• Sat out the first 10 games of the 2001-02 season because of NCAA sanctions.
• Played in 18 games, moving into the starting lineup for the last nine contests.
• Ranked second on the team with a .615 field goal percentage (32-52).
• Scored a season-high 14 points at Illinois-Chicago and had a season--best 10 boards vs. Detroit on March 2, 2002.
• Saw reserve action in 19 games as a freshman in 2000-01.

PRE-CLEVELAND STATE CAREER:
• Averaged 13.0 points and 10.0 rebounds a game as a senior at Faith Christian Academy (Glassboro, N.J.), playing for coach Gary Foster.
• Scored 19 points with 10 rebounds and five blocks vs. Crispus Attucks, the top ranked prep school in the nation.
• Played basketball for both Montpellier and Charillon in France before starting school in the United States.
