Cleveland State Inks Second Pennsylvania Player
Nov. 9, 2000 CLEVELAND, Ohio - Tyler Reynolds, a 6-9 forward from Athens, Pennsylvania, has signed a national letter-of-intent during the early signing period to continue his academic and athletic career at Cleveland State University, Head Coach Rollie Massimino announced today.
Last year, Reynolds averaged 17.0 points, 13.0 rebounds, 3.0 blocks and 2.0 assists per game at Athens High School en route to being named first-team all-league. In addition, the 235-pounder was named first-team all-Southern Tier, a region made up of northeast Pennsylvania as well as southern New York.
"Another outstanding player has been added to this program in Tyler Reynolds and we welcome him to our family," said Massimino. "He's one of the "sleeper" players in the country who has the ability to run, jump and play different positions on the floor.
"His aggression, desire to succeed and his winning attitude attracted him to us for the past three years throughout the recruiting process. He'll be a terrific student-athlete for Cleveland State for the next four years."
Reynolds joins 5-11 point guard Walt Chavis from Steelton, Pa. in CSU's 2001 recruiting class.
Cleveland State, which finished 16-14 last season, will play its last exhibition against Reality Basketball on Saturday, Nov. 11 at 7:05 p.m. before tipping off the regular season against Vermont on Friday, Nov. 17 at 7:05 p.m. at Goodman Arena. |
