Scouting Benny Balogh
After an inconsistent freshman season where he saw competition at 197 pounds, Balogh will be looking to compete for a spot at 184 pounds this year. At 5'4'', he wrestles very low on his opponents and his immense strength allows him to win the inside battles. His compact build also enables him to easily score takedowns, and makes it hard for his opponents to score on him.

2006-07 - Freshman Season
Went 7-11 in rookie season, wrestling at 197 pounds...Wins included 1 by major decision, 5 by decision and 1 forfeit...Began season as starter at 197 pounds...Winner in first collegiate action, going 2-1 at Eastern Michigan Open (11/4)...Winner in first dual meet action as Viking (vs. John Carroll, 11/21).

High School
Three-time district qualifier...posted 102-32 individual record...went 37-7 and placed at the district championship his senior year...also earned three letters in football and one in track & field.
