Two-time first-team all-conference performer Mahogany Green returns this season to serve as Duffy Burns’ graduate assistant. Green played professionally in Europe last year after graduating from Cleveland State in 2001. A native of Toledo, Ohio where she attended Bowsher High School, Green finished her stellar tenure ranked among the CSU career leaders in points (4th-1,366), rebounds (10th-615), assists (5th-318), three-pointers (2nd-151), steals (7th-204), blocked shots (12th-39), games played (2nd-113) and games started (6th-85).

The Midwestern Collegiate Conference Preseason Player of the Year as a senior, Green led the Vikings in scoring (15.1 ppg), rebounding (7.8 rpg) and assists (4.64 apg) en route to earning first team all-conference honors for the second consecutive year—just the fourth Vikings to accomplish the feat more than once. Against Detroit on Feb. 3, Green equaled her own school-record with seven triples en route to career-high 37 points (3rd highest total in school history).

The previous season, Green averaged 17.4 ppg and 7.1 rpg — both of which ranked among the top four in the league — on her way to first team all-league honors. She also set the school record with 62 three-pointers (which was broken last season) in addition to recording just the third triple-double in school history on Nov. 19, 2000 against Niagara (16 points, 13 rebounds, 10 assists).

“Mahogany is a true student of the game who knows how to get the most out of herself and others,” noted Burns. “We are thrilled to have her energetic personality on our staff.”

Green currently resides in Cleveland.
