Mahogany Green Named MCC Player Of The Week

Feb. 5, 2001

CLEVELAND - Senior forward Mahogany Green (Toledo, Ohio/Bowsher) has been named the Midwestern Collegiate Conference Player of the Week. She joins junior center Kim Brockway (Marine City, Mich./Marine City), who was honored on Jan. 11, as Vikings to be recognized by the conference this season.

Green etched her name into the Cleveland State record books in Saturday's 91-77 win against Detroit. She connected on 13-of-25 field goals en route to scoring a career-high 37 points - the highest total in the MCC this season and tied for the third-highest output in CSU history. In addition, Green matched her own school record with seven three-pointers on 14 attempts. She also added eight rebounds, three assists and a career-high tying two blocks. When Detroit cut CSU's lead to just five at the 17:35 mark of the second half, Green scored 13 consecutive points for the Vikings over the next four minutes to push the lead back to double-digits.

Tied for third in the MCC, Cleveland State (11-9, 4-3 MCC) hosts conference-leading UW-Green Bay (15-5, 7-0 MCC) on Thursday and second-place UW-Milwaukee (10-9, 6-1 MCC) on Saturday.
