Jessica Burt has the task of replacing All-Horizon League performer Michele Penney in center field. A speedy outfielder, Burt will be counted upon to provide a spark at the top of the lineup.
2007 - Freshman Season
Starter in 43 games...hit .297 with 41 hits, four doubles, 19 RBI and 9 stolen bases...upped mark to .386 (17-44) with four doubles, six RBI, and four stolen bases in league action...led team with four triples and 12 sacrifice bunts...hit a homerun and drove in three runs against Army (3/11)...went 3-for-4 with one RBI and a pair of runs scored at UIC (4/29).
High School
Earned first team Louisville Slugger/NFCA High School All-America and first team All-Ohio accolades after leading squad to 2006 Division II state title...recorded a school-record .633 average (57-90) -- 12th-best in state annals -- while going 4-2 with a pair of saves and a 0.96 ERA in the circle...second team All-Ohio selection in 2005, going 5-1 with a 1.35 ERA while batting .526...team posted a 111-13 record during her four years, advancing to the state semifinals in 2005 and into the state title game her sophomore season...three-time all-district, all-conference and all-county pick.
