J.J. Thornberry has done whatever was asked of her for three years and her senior campaign should be no different as she will move behind the plate for much of the season. While she will still see action in the circle as the team's number three starter, she worked a lot last year on her catching skills, refining them during the offseason.

2005 - Junior Season
Started 20 times at first base and 20 times in the circle...hit .223 with six doubles, three home runs and 14 RBI...was 7-8 with a 3.66 ERA and 68 strikeouts in 97.2 innings of work...had five multi-hit and four multi-RBI contests...had a seven-game hitting streak from May 1-12...was 4-for-4 with a home run, double and two RBI at UIC (5/1)...went 3-for-3 against Robert Morris (3/28)...was the hard-luck loser in 2-1 Horizon League championship game defeat against UW-Green Bay (5/14), scattering nine hits in 9.1 innings of work...fanned seven and gave up one run in back-to-back outings at IPFW (4/11) and versus Ohio (4/13)...fanned nine in complete game win over Niagara (4/7).

2004 - Sophomore Season
Started 33 games at first base...batted .196 with six doubles, a home run and 15 RBI...turned in a .979 fielding percentage...made 18 appearances and eight starts on the mound, going 1-7 with a 4.75 ERA...went 2-for-4 with two RBI at Niagara (4/22)...knocked in five in twin bill with Butler (4/3)...threw a complete game, four-hit shutout against Southeast Missouri State (3/18)...hit three-run homer to help Vikings erase late four-run deficit against Yale (3/13).

2003 - Freshman Season
Played in 37 games, starting 35...pitched in 16 contests, starting nine...posted a 4.33 ERA in 55.0 innings while recording 34 strikeouts... registered a complete-game shutout at Akron on April 21, striking out a career-best five...hit .127 playing mostly at first...homered and drove in two runs in 18-inning affair versus Wright State on March 29.

High School
First team all-state as a junior and senior and honorable mention as a sophomore...named all-district three times and all-conference four times...team captain as a junior and senior...led softball team to regional finals...earned 10 high school letters while participating in volleyball, basketball and softball...set volleyball school records for blocks in a season and blocks in a career.
