INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Cleveland State junior shortstop Christa Coppus has been selected as the Horizon League Player of the Week. The league office made the announcement on Monday evening.

Coppus hit .400 in eight games last week, with 10 hits, four doubles, and eight RBI's to help lead the Vikings to a 5-3 record in Orlando.

"This is a well-deserved honor for Christa," head coach Angie Nicholson said. "Christa started the year off in a little slump, but has pulled it together and is being the leader for the team."

Coppus is hitting .383, with 18 hits and 14 RBI's in 15 games this season.

The Vikings will return to action when they travel to Eastern Michigan for a doubleheader on Tuesday, March 25. The first game is slated to begin at 2:00 p.m.
