Vikings Take Two Against Oakland, Chicago State
March 2, 2008 Contact: Jessica Gerich CLEVELAND, Ohio - Cleveland State swept Oakland, 7-0, and defeated Chicago State 4-3, to wrap up the home non-conference matches for the Vikings. CSU went 5-1 in non-conference matches played at home. The wins move CSU to 9-3 on the season. Four Vikings went 2-0 in singles play, led by freshman Sanda Bjelan going 2-0 at No. 3 singles. Sophomore Denisa Muntean went 2-0 at No. 4, while seniors Lindsay Sellers and Morgan Ungerott went 2-0 at Nos. 5 and 6, respectively. Bjelan and Muntean won both of their doubles matches. "Against Oakland we came out and attacked quickly in doubles and finished the job in singles," head coach Brian Etzkin said. "We slipped up in doubles with Chicago State, but were evened out after Morgan's win by forfeit. Sanda, Denisa, and Lindsay handled their points well to wrap up the win."
