INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The Cleveland State women's tennis team (17-7) won their opening match at the Horizon League Championship, defeating Valparaiso 4-0 on Friday afternoon.

CSU captured the doubles point, winning at Nos. 1 and 3 doubles, respectively. Senior Morgan Ungerott and sophomore Charlotte Gibbons won 8-4 over Kim Sajevic and Julie Wingstrom at No. 1 doubles. Freshman Jackie Tabb and senior Jenn Myers defeated Jackie O'Reilly and Christine Antrobus 8-2 at No. 3 doubles.

Myers won at No. 3 singles, defeating Wingstrom 6-2, 6-1, while freshman Sanda Bjelan won 6-0, 6-0 over Antrobus at No. 4 singles. Gibbons defeated Laura Lawson 6-0, 6-0 at No. 5 singles to clinch the victory.

The Vikings face Green Bay on Saturday, April 26 at 10:00 a.m.
