In her first season as the full-time libero, Jordan Bateman emerged as one of the top defensive players in the Horizon League last year when she set a school-record with 457 digs. A scrappy defensive player, she possesses excellent ball control and passing abilities. Bateman will be heavily relied upon to anchor the Viking backrow this season.

2006- Sophomore Season
Played in all 28 matches and set a school-record with 457 digs, breaking the old mark of 455 set in 2005 by Alisa Hatcher... ranked third in the Horizon League in digs per game (4.66 dpg) and averaged 5.00 digs per game in 14 league contests... tallied double digit digs in 25-of-28 matches, including the final 14 matches of the season... posted at least 15 digs on 16 occasions and topped 20 digs in nine matches... recorded season-high 31 digs in 3-2 loss at Temple (8/26)... amassed 26 digs, three aces and three assists in league semifinal against UIC (11/18)... was third on the squad with 28 aces... two-time Horizon League Defensive Player of the Week (Sept. 18 and Oct. 2).

2005- Freshman Season
Appeared in 20 matches as a defensive specialist...tallied a pair of aces and 13 digs...notched a career-high five digs against Ohio State (9/6).

Three-time all-district and all-conference selection at Nelsonville-York High School, playing for coach Stephanie Breeze... Gatorade Player of the Year in 2002... team won two conference (2003 & `04) and two sectional titles (2002 & `03) and was district runners-up in 2002 and `03... finished with 527 career kills... two-time all-conference pick in basketball and led team to first-ever league title in 2004-05... honorable mention all-district and all-conference selection... lettered three years in track and one year in softball... 2005 OHSAA Scholar Athlete Award... three-time all-academic Honor Roll selection... 2004 national nominee for the Wendy's High School Heisman... also a member of the cheerleading squad... played club volleyball for Ohio Juniors and Matchpoint.
